My Underdog story
I started boxing when I was 17 years old at the Champion Boxing Club. I would compile a .500 record over 2 years, beating the then Canadian Junior Champion at my fourth fight & losing to much less celebrated fighters along the way. I ended the first part of my boxing career losing a fight that everyone, including myself, thought I would easily win. Ashamed & disappointed, I left the sport figuring I would go back to it eventually. My comeback seemed impossible when a quarrel in a club left me injured with a .22 caliber bullet wound in my right leg & a .38 bullet wound in my left arm. I was operated the same morning on January 22 2005. Althought the operation on my left arm was a success, the surgeon told me to forget about doing any sports, let alone come back to boxing. Thats when my stubborness came in handy. In February 2007, my partners & I founded the Underdog Boxing Gym. In November 2007, I won the Canadian heavyweight championship, defended it successfully in 2009, & I will now fufill my potential in the pro ranks and find out how far some talent + dedication + some wits will take me. Stay tuned!
